Mama Don't Take My Toblerone Away

Here is a list, just off the top of my head, of the food items left sitting in the kitchen at my office in the past week:

1. Huge box of Toblerone "One by Ones"
2. Box of Ferrero Rocher (sp?) chocolates
3. Homemade Christmas cookies
4. Individually wrapped milk chocolate toy soldiers
5. Candy canes
6. Giant chocolate cake from Claim Jumper
7. Hand-made truffles
8. Chocolate covered espresso beans

I realize that bringing treats to the office is a great way to remove temptation from your home, but really, aren't you just relocating the temptation? And don't you spend more hours in a day at the office than at home anyway (not counting sleep)?

A pat on the back: it is 11:13 a.m. and I have thus far managed not to partake. I rock.

Update, 2:03 p.m.: Broke down and ate a small package of "reindeer corn" (candy corn in Christmas colors instead of Halloweeny colors). Very little fat, but sugar out the wazoo. Sigh.

Our office added a "refreshment station" for the students while they're waiting to see us. Includes: Coffee, tea, and one big basket of candy. I've only had a bite-size Baby Ruth today. Man, I swear my mouth waters just walking by!

Ok, the phrase "Giant Chocolate Cake from Claim Jumper" just made me laugh so hard. No idea why.

Way to go, Walli. I think this is great. And don't beat yourself up over the corn stuff. It would be nearly impossible for me to stay away from that Toblerone.

Also, remember that it's not the worst thing in the world to eat that stuff now and then.
