Look to your left...

Okay, not bad. Lost two pounds this week, as you'll see in SkinnyMommy's Progress. Maybe I can even get rid of another couple before Saturday, when we leave for Ohio.

I have to say that, just over the weekend, I made a more concerted effort to actually plan our meals, and it makes such a difference. Safeway now makes a chicken sausage with apple and sage, which is great with pasta, rice, you name it...and so much lower in calories and fat than its pork counterpart (how often do you get to type the phrase "pork counterpart"?). Plus, it's sausage, so it keeps The Boy happy.

Anyway, my point is that planning meals seems so daunting, but is much less so than the catch-as-catch-can that results if you don't plan (do you have any idea how many calories are in those frozen burritos?!). And it's a double load off my mind, because during a busy work day, I don't have to worry about what I'm going to make for dinner, and I know it will be healthy. It's a win-win. Holy crap, I sound like Women's World magazine or something.

I feel so much better when I have my meals planned too. I don't have stress while at work about "oh no, what am I going to feed the little mini-munch!"

Glad the weight loss is still on track.

Enjoy your trip as much as you can. Cricket may surprise you by loving the trip because of all the adoration she'll get from strangers.

Love,
Sis
